Hello everyone...
I got a question for all of you - this is a hobby programming forum, mainly a place for retro programming and hobby programming, a place to learn and share code and projects and cool stuff we make and to get to know other programmers out there who share our interest in programming no matter what language -
However, I wanted to ask you all if you think there should be or if you would like to have a "Jobs Board" for programmers interested in offering their skills for a fee - requests for jobs, offering private lessons in programming, etc... I don't know if this is allowed by our host to make such a Board or option yet I need to check it with the host TOS... however, I would like anyone who has an opinion on this to post their take on this as a reply here... (it looks to me like a well intent idea and goodwill but I might be wrong and this might be a bad idea, in this case, this post is most likely be removed)

hi...
Quick update:
Host TOS says clearly:
Quote12. No subhosting or resale of any services, for fee or for free.
so I'm no lawyer, BUT I have a feeling this means we CANNOT add a "Job's Board" for people offering services for a fee or even for free... :(
sill i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this...
Hi aurel :)
Yes, strict rules. Then again, this hosting service was provided for free by the host.
Regarding the VB.NET board, thanks for letting me know, and now I hope it's been fixed, so check again and let me know
However, I must give a warning to all regarding the VB.NET board. My partner Mysoft who is the main Admin does not like VB.NET or NET Framework as it's OOP and other nasty things he Dispies so it is a wonder that such a board exists in the first place (NET is not Retro Programming. I'm afraid) the future of VB.NET Board is not certain here...
hum... well those rules, probabily would not interfere in just people posting about their knowledge... that's not reselling any other service, and the forum would not be used to host such work... just to be a "newspaper" regarding that for private contact of such stuff..
so it's probabily fine and according to the forum rules... and it isnt any different a post of people requesting help to make their game where they would pay for people interested, which exists on freebasic forum as far i know... but it would be a good idea to search posts on freebasic forum, for any job offerings there to see if we have a precedence case :)
May I offer 'my' two cents? (for what it is worth... lol)
Unless the Host of this forum has guidelines concerning "non profit" ventures then my opinion would be, as Admin's you do not need the 'permission' or the 'majority consent' of the membership, after all, a Forum by definition, is not a democracy. That being said, I can see the wisdom in 'asking' so as not to cause members to 'look elsewhere'...
Well, that is my 2 cents
